LCM Group

LCM chairs are a group of chairs that the Eames came up with based on a number of variations achieved by combining a seat shell with different base frames. The Plywood Group, for example, was available from the outset with a chromed tubular steel base, making the design appear lighter and creating a certain tension in the contrast of two materials. The fur cover version was introduced as early as 1946 but only produced in small numbers.

Alongside models with no upholstery, the Eamesís also designed versions with cowhide or leather upholstery. The covers rest on a thin wedge of foam to provide additional comfort. Now for the first time in decades hide or leather covers are available once more.
